Robinson Crusoe

3 — The Ship
In the morning the sea was quiet. The ship was still there, not far from the land. I swam out to it and climbed up a rope. The food in the ship was dry and good, and I was very hungry. I ate some bread and drank a little rum. Then I made a raft from pieces of wood. I put many things on it: bread, rice, cheese, clothes, a box of tools, guns and gunpowder. I went back to the ship eleven times. I found a dog and two cats there too, and I took them with me. On the thirteenth day a storm came in the night. In the morning the ship was gone. But I had everything I needed.
