Alice found a small bottle with the words "DRINK ME" on the label. She drank it and shut up like a telescope until she was ten inches high. Then she remembered the key on the table above her, and now she was far too small to reach it. She began to cry. Under the table she found a little cake with the words "EAT ME" on it, and after one bite she grew until her head struck the ceiling. She cried again, and her huge tears made a pool across the floor of the hall. The white rabbit came back, dropped his gloves and his fan, and ran away in a hurry. Alice picked up the fan and fanned herself, and at once she began to shrink. She dropped the fan just in time and swam out into her own salt tears. A mouse was swimming there too, and Alice spoke to it about her cat Dinah, which was a great mistake.
