Once upon a time, there were three bears. They lived in a little house in the woods. Their house was small but warm. Around the house there were tall trees and bright flowers. There was a big father bear, a middle-sized mother bear, and a small baby bear. One morning, the mother bear made some porridge for breakfast. She put it into three bowls. There was a big bowl for the father bear, a middle bowl for the mother bear, and a small bowl for the baby bear. But the porridge was too hot. So the three bears went for a walk in the woods. They wanted to wait until the porridge was cool. They walked slowly and talked together. The morning was sunny and the birds sang in the trees. While they were away, a little girl came near the house. Her name was Goldilocks, because she had beautiful golden hair. She was hungry and tired. She wanted to rest and eat something. She looked through the window, but she saw no one. Then she knocked on the door. No one answered. So she opened the door and went inside. On the table she saw the three bowls of porridge. She was very hungry, so she picked up a spoon. First she tasted the porridge in the big bowl. "This porridge is too hot!" she said. Then she tasted the porridge in the middle bowl. "This porridge is too cold!" she said. Then she tasted the porridge in the small bowl. "This porridge is just right!" she said happily. And she ate it all up. After breakfast, Goldilocks wanted to sit down. She saw three chairs by the fire. First she sat in the big chair. "This chair is too hard!" she said. Then she sat in the middle chair. "This chair is too soft!" she said. Then she sat in the small chair. "This chair is just right!" she said. But the little chair was too weak for her. It broke into pieces, and Goldilocks fell on the floor.
